Family Practice Physician
Pay Rate: $140.00 per hour
Locations (Southern California): Downtown Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Hawthorne, Harbor City, and Wilmington.
Schedule: Flexible (May require some evening and weekend shifts)
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and community-minded Family Practice Physician to join our dedicated interdisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care for a diverse patient population, working under the direction of the Medical Director to implement and maintain high-quality care programs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Management of all acute and chronic illnesses to community standards; obtain medical, social, and developmental histories.
- Preventative Health: Perform routine physical exams, administer immunizations, and initiate necessary laboratory exams or diagnostic studies.
- Specialist Coordination: Consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high-risk or complex patient cases.
- Case Management: Provide proactive case management in collaboration with other healthcare team members and offer clinical consultations to fellow Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Medical Assistants.
- Program Compliance: Manage services in strict accordance with established clinic policies, procedures, and contracted health programs (including CHDP and Managed Medical Care guidelines).
- Quality Improvement: Exercise sharp judgment in establishing medical care priorities during triage situations and actively participate in Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) programs.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited university. (Foreign medical graduates must have passed all required USMLE exams and/or completed an accredited U.S. residency program).
- Licensure & Certifications: Active, unrestricted California Medical License (M.D. or D.O.), active DEA License, and a current CPR/BLS Certification.
- Board Status: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Family Practice.
- Credentials: Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) prior to employment start date and have approved credentials with active Health Plans.
- Communication & Skills: Excellent communication and bedside manners. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Travel: Reliable transportation is required. Must be able to travel from facility to facility as needed, including up to 10% travel outside the immediate local area.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- OSHA Category 1: Position involves routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
- Mobility: The majority of the shift is non-sedentary. Requires the stamina to work in a busy clinic setting, maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, and frequently push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds (and occasionally up to 40 pounds).
